It's time to focus on your needs.

I'm Toni Caverly (MA, RP), and I help people just like you: ones that have it within them to regain a sense of confidence in themselves, but just need a bit of support to get there.

I support my clients to find peace, fulfillment and joy by equipping them with the tools they need to better understand their past and orient their future.

Many of today's solutions for stress and anxiety forget to explore the 'why', leading many to feel like they're not making any real progress. I believe that sometimes when we feel stuck, we need to look back in order to move forward.

My Approach

My practice is trauma-focused and IFS-informed, which means that I strive to create an environment that feels safe, collaborative and where you feel empowered to make choices in your life. Throughout our work together, we'll combine deep inner work and practical strategies to manage emotions, and life's many expectations in relationships, work life, and personal life, so that you can reclaim your sense of self and get back to enjoying being you.

I am dedicated to helping people regain a sense of confidence in themselves.

During each session, you can expect to find a compassionate and listening ear. I adopt the mindset that we all deserve a little self-kindness! Our journeys lead us down different paths, and I strive to represent this in my personalized approach to therapy by recognizing and honouring your identity and cultural diversity. My practice is rooted in Humanistic and Psychodynamic modalities. You are the expert of your own life, and I am here to support you towards reaching your goals.

Sometimes we'll laugh and other times, tears will be shed. Throughout it all, I will be honored to walk alongside you, with the goal in mind of supporting you where you want to go on your journey!

Qualifications

As a Registered Psychotherapist (#10145), I obtained a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. In pursuit of my degree, I had the pleasure of working in Community Mental Health, where I fostered a great interest in providing psychotherapy to adults of all ages and co-facilitated group therapy on Mindfulness-based practices.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked with children and families in various settings, including Child Protective Services, youth groups and daycare facilities. I led many workplace initiatives on Mental Health during the pandemic and throughout my time as a Public Servant. I provided practical and emotional support to victims of crime, and I volunteered as a Crisis Line Responder with my local distress centre. My first job involved providing social support to individuals with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

I’ve obtained a certification in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST), and additional training in Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and a Social Service Worker Diploma from La Cité.
